The LACHMI Shoping Mall

It all began in the early 1969, when Ramesh T. Chotrani, with his wife Sangeeta R. Chotrani, started a small store located along San Pedro Street and named the store Lachmi Emporium. Lachmi Emporium, Lachmi from the word Lakshmi who is the Goddess of Wealth, sold everything from jewelries and watches, to clothing and sports items.

Years of hard work and persistence slowly earned Lachmi Emporium its popularity as a store that sells everything at very low prices – from “Toothpick to Battleship”. And in no time at all, Lachmi Emporium became the buying destination of people, both from the city and nearby provinces. In 2001, the family built its first three-story building along San Pedro Street purposely to provide a bigger space to serve its customers better. More products were also added to accommodate demands of the customers. The constructed building became so big that it had been decided to change its name to Lachmi Shopping Mall.

In 2006, Lachmi Shopping Mall, armed with the increasing demand of people who like to invest, acquired other properties adjacent to the main building. Hence, in no time at all, Lachmi Shopping Mall has three connected leasable buildings in the heart of Davao City.
